Sammy Nooner

When he is not busy with his fuel distribution business, or his farming business, or his dove hunting business… Sammy Nooner is busy developing one of the biggest and best whitetail deer breeding operations in the state of Texas. The breeding operation at Sammy's ranch began in the fall of 2001 with two large pens with does and a breeder buck in each pen.  Today, Nooner Whitetails has over 60 breeding pens and some of the finest handling and fawn raising facilities in the state. Sammy is a big believer in quality above all.
He purchased Stickers in the spring of 2007, the only buck in Texas to score over 300" for five consecutive years. The fawn crop out of Stickers in 2008 was a great success. Sammy moved forward with his top quality program and purchased Easy Money in the fall of 2008. With these two great herd sires, Sammy Nooner and Nooner Whitetails are sure to produce some of the best deer in Texas for years to come.

Gene Naquin, Jr.

There is no harder working-man than Gene Naquin, Jr. Hailing from East Texas, Gene got his start working in the white-tailed deer industry in 2001 at La Bandera Ranch. It was here Gene began learning about all aspects of bottle raising fawns and everything else there was to learn about scientific breeder pens. In 2005 he went to work for Henry Woodard at Woodard Whitetails and started the breeding program there from the ground, up. In 2007 Gene began to work for Sammy Nooner at Nooner Whitetails. The breeding program had been underway at Nooner Ranch for a few years, but has improved greatly since Gene's arrival. The addition of Stickers, 354 1/8" Boone and Crockett, under the watchful eye of Gene, catapulted Nooner Whitetails to the forefront of the deer breeding industry. Gene's knowledge of deer, and his concern for the well being of all 700+ deer in the scientific breeder pens has helped Nooner Whitetails to continuously improve their breeding program.

Gene wakes up each day as the sun comes up and checks the condition of each deer on the ranch; a large task, but one he willingly accepts and enjoys. Gene's work ethic never allows him to slow down, or give up; no matter what the circumstance may be, he puts everything he can into each task and each deer. The trust Gene instills in Mr. Nooner allowed Nooner Whitetails to again improve their breeding program with the addition of Easy Money, another 300+" breeder buck. Under Gene's care, Nooner Whitetails will continue to grow and improve, as he believes the sky is the limit, and will stop at nothing to be the best at what he does.
